• Taghavi and Jokar fail to capture medal

      Mehdi Taghavi and Meisam Mostafa Jokar failed to capture medal at Olympic Games.

      Two times freestyle world junior champion, Taghavi won Haislan Garcia from Canada in three periods (0-1, 1-1, and 5-1) but lost to 2007 world champion Ramasan Sahin from Turkey(0-3, 0-1). In Repechage, Taghavi lost to Geandri Garzon from Cuba (4-1, 0-2 and 0-2). Taghavi was one step away from win but he couldn’t make score from one leg take-down in last seconds in third period and went outside of the mat.

      In 74kg, Meisam Mostafa Jokar had a poor performance and lost to Kiril Terziev (0-3, 1-3).

      Sahin won 66kg gold medal and Buvaisar Saiteiv from Russia obtained his ninth gold medals at 74 kg.
