• 3 Iranian wrestlers seeking for Greco-roman Olympic licenses

      Bavafa, Mohammadi and Alizadeh in Rome

      Three Iranian wrestlers compete in Greco-roman Olympic qualification tournament in Italy, Rome, May 9 to 11.

      Two times Asian silver medalist, Hamid Bavafa competes in 60kg. 66kg Iran team wrestler is Ali Mohammadi. Mohammadi was 2006 and 2007 world team member. Also Yadegare Emam Cup champion in 74kg, Farshad Alizadeh represents Iran in Rome Olympic qualification tournament.

      Until now, Iran Greco-roman team has qualified in four weight classes. By winning medals from 2007 world championship, Hamid Sourian in 55kg, Saman Tahmasebi in 84kg and Ghasem Rezaei in 96kg qualified Iran in three weight classes. Moreover, Masoud Hashemzadeh captured 120kg Asia gold medal to receive Olympic license.
