• First day final results of Martigny qualifying tournament

      Olympic licenses for Taghavi and Dabbaghi

      Two Iranian wrestlers qualified to Beijing Olympic in first day of Martigny tournament.

      Two times world junior champion, Mehdi Taghavi, won 66kg final match by defeating Serafim Barzakov from Bulgari 5-3(1-0, 0-1, 4-2) and grabbed Olympic license. Before that Iranian 21years old wrestler won against Albert Batyrov from Belarus.

      Also 21 years old, Abbas Dabbaghi, won three straight matches against China, Greece and Germany wrestlers to take 55kg third place and qualify to Olympic. In this weight, Radoslaw Velikov from Bulgaria defeated Kim Hyu Sub from Korea in Final. First to third place winners of this tournament receive Olympic licenses.
