The Chief Education Officer of the Bulgarian Sports Academy awarded the FILA President, Mr Raphaël Martinetti, with the title of Doctor Honoris Causa, the most prestigious academic decoration, during a magnificent ceremony that took place on 22 November in Sofia. On that occasion, Mr Martinetti presented the development programmes undertaken by FILA to assist the national wrestling Federations in Africa and on the other continents. With this title, the FILA President entered the closed circle of influential sport figures who received it in the past, that is: Marquis Juan Antonio Samaranch, IOC Honoray President, Segei Bubka, IOC Member, Primo Nobiolo, former IAAF President, Bruno Grandi, FIG President, Sepp Blatter, FIFA President, Tamás Aján IWF President, Ruben Acosta, FIVB President, or Franz Beckenbauer, FC Bayern Munich President.
