Iran 96kg wrestler Jafar Daliri won four matches to reach final but lost to four times world and olympic champion Khajimurad Gatsalov from Russia.

At 55kg Iman Gooran was fifth and at 66kg Peyman Mohammadi eliminated in quarter fianl.

Russia grabbed two golds by Gatsalov at 96kg and 2005 world champion Alan Dadaev at 66 kg.

Another first day gold medal went to Jae Hoon from Korea at 55kg.
